The Beginning
Started in December 2010 by Vanessa Dommershuyzen from her home, initially offering just a range of birthing supplies under the name House of Bastet.

You can turn to Animalis with any questions, confident that you are in good hands. In addition to running a cattery, both owners hold the 'Animal Keepers Decree: Dog & Cat' certification and regularly undergo further training on a wide range of topics and products.

Development
On March 1, 2012, House of Bastet took over the operations of a small pet shop on Josephine Bakerstraat in Almere, along with its premises in the Muziekwijk district. Annita Kuhn joined the company on January 1, 2014, at which point Animalis was converted into a general partnership (VOF). As Animalis is a dynamic company, it subsequently acquired the operations of Dierenshop Happie in Almere on January 1, 2016.

2021 was the year to put the finishing touches on everything; all activities and webshops were consolidated under a single name: Animalis! This significant step in the company's professionalization enables Animalis to serve its customers even better.

New Location
We looked forward to October 1, 2024, when we began welcoming customers in person at our new location in Heerhugowaard! Our beautiful new shop was located at Lijsterstraat 9. Unfortunately, the location proved unsuitable for our needs, and after two years, we decided to focus exclusively on our Almere branch.
